Patient FAQ

A collection of our patients' most common concerns.

Are chiropractic adjustments safe?

Chiropractic has been accepted over time as an adjunct to traditional medical treatment. Its safety and efficacious nature have been confirmed through research and results-based treatment.

Is a referral needed?

The vast majority of insurance plans do not require a referral from an MD before scheduling an appointment. Contact your insurance to determine your eligibility.

How many adjustments will I need?

Misalignments and structural discomfort are corrected over time. Our doctors are transparent about exactly how many visits will be necessary to treat your specific situation. Typically, a patient will experience immediate relief after an adjustment for a minor condition.

Is Chiropractic covered by insurance?

Absolutely. Most major insurance plans include chiropractic care coverage. Contact us to find out if our practice accepts your insurance.

Can I adjust myself?

Chiropractors must earn a total of 4,200 hours of combined academic, laboratory and clinical experience before receiving their certification. Through this experience a deep understanding of Kineseology is obtained which informs the care they implement. Self adjustment can have dangerous results due to the persons inexperience with the science and proper delivery of Chiropractic care.

What does an adjustment feel like?

An adjustment usually involves the manipulation of your spine in a non-invasive and gentle manner. The crack that results from an adjustment is the result of gas bubbles being released from the movement of your joints. Little to no discomfort occurs with the only slight soreness being experienced.

Can practice members with osteoporosis get chiropractic care?

Osteoporosis is a degenerative condition most commonly experienced by older men and women. By evaluating your bone density and overall structural health, our chiropractors can determine if chiropractic care will be effective in treating your condition.

Isn't some back pain normal?

While back pain is commonly experienced by most patients seeking chiropractic, it isn't normal. Any pain experienced throughout your body is an indication of something gone wrong. Chiropractic seeks out the root of the problem and corrects it naturally before it becomes disabling.
